At KIBA Built, we’re all about creating homes that bring our clients’ dreams to life. But we also know that building homes comes with an environmental footprint. That’s why we’re doing something about it—by partnering with Fifteen Trees, a social enterprise dedicated to planting trees and restoring native ecosystems across Australia.
This isn’t just a token gesture. It’s our way of giving back to the environment and ensuring Queensland’s natural beauty is protected for future generations.
Recently, we sponsored the planting of 180 native trees in Tully, on the Cassowary Coast in Far North Queensland. These trees were planted as part of a community revegetation project, transforming a local park along a manmade creek that flows into the Great Barrier Reef.
Why is this important? These trees are doing a lot more than just looking great—they’re:
With over 30 species planted (including Blue Quandongs, Flame Trees, and Queensland Maples), this project is helping to preserve Queensland’s unique ecosystems.
We’ve always recognised the impact our industry has on the environment, from clearing land for new homes to the materials we use in construction. That’s why we’ve partnered with Fifteen Trees to plant 15 trees for every build contract signed.
By doing this, we’re working to offset our footprint while supporting community groups like Landcare to take on critical land management projects. It’s not just about planting trees; it’s about creating lasting, positive change for the environment.
The trees we’re helping to plant are more than a symbol of sustainability—they’re a tangible part of creating a greener future. Just like every KIBA Built home requires teamwork and careful planning, these revegetation projects rely on the combined efforts of local groups, nurseries, and businesses like ours.
We’re proud to play a part in this effort, supporting Queensland’s communities and ecosystems through initiatives that make a real difference.
Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. By partnering with Fifteen Trees, we’re taking steps to ensure our business aligns with our values—caring for the environment, creating sustainable communities, and leaving a positive legacy.
